Ratan’s story begins far from the streets of Metro Detroit on a journey that carried his family across oceans in search of the American Dream. He arrived in America in 1970, a wide-eyed fifth grader in the quiet town of Clawson, Michigan, already dreaming of the skies. That dream led him to Western Michigan University’s flight school in Kalamazoo, where he first learned what it meant to defy gravity.
But life had other plans. Instead of piloting aircraft, Ratan would navigate the turbulent air currents of his business journey. Over the years, he built and lost, succeeded and failed, transforming each setback into a new beginning.
This book opens not at the height of triumph but at the wreckage of his first business. From that moment of collapse, Ratan began an odyssey of reinvention that would test every part of who he was and awaken what he was always meant to become.
